World champions Spain continue their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign Tuesday with a tricky away tie against Scotland while Germany will be expecting to maintain their perfect start against Kazakhstan.

Spain are top of qualifying group I with six points from two games after beating Lithuania 3-1 in Salamanca on Friday, but boss Vicente del Bosque may have to do without Real Madrid pair Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos.

Midfield anchorman Alonso missed the Lithuania win with a heavy cold, while right-back Ramos limped off with a bruised right ankle after setting up two of the goals.

"We hope that Sergio Ramos does not have any difficulties," Del Bosque said. "I hope Xabi Alonso is also with us. I am counting on them for Tuesday's game in Glasgow, because it is going to be a very difficult match."

Meanwhile Fernando Llorente, who scored two goals against Lithuania, is confident he will be able to play despite persistent pain in right ankle.

Germany coach Joachim Loew is expected to keep faith with the same team that defeated Turkey 3-0 in Berlin when his side face Kazakhstan in a Group A encounter in Astana.

The only doubt is over Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Oezil, who scored and was in outstanding form against the Turks, and replacement defender Jerome Boateng, who is struggling with a stomach problem.

The 21-year-old Oezil failed to train on Sunday because of an ankle injury but Loew expects the player to recover in time.

"If everything goes as it should then I expect to name the same team," said Loew.

In a tight Group B where the top five teams are separated by just two points, Russia will be looking to build on a 3-2 win against the Republic of Ireland with victory away to Macedonia.

Dick Advocaat's side are level at the top of the group on six points with Ireland and Slovakia, who meet in Zilina. Armenia - surprise 3-1 victors over Slovakia last time out - play Andorra in the other group game.

Italy have made a less than impressive start to their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign under coach Cesare Prandelli but still sit top of Group C on seven points from three games ahead of their encounter with Serbia in Genoa.

The Azzurri could only manage a scoreless draw against Northern Ireland Friday while Serbia suffered a shock loss at home to Estonia.

"It makes Tuesday's game much more complicated," said Prandelli. "I would have preferred a Serbia that was not wounded."

France may have started their campaign with a home defeat to Belarus but Saturday's 2-0 win against Romania means Les Bleus now top Group D on six points, one ahead of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Laurent Blanc's side can further consolidate their grip on the group with victory against Luxembourg while Albania and Belarus meet in the other group game.

In Group E, World Cup finalists the Netherlands have won their opening three games but face a stern test in the form of Erik Hamren's Sweden, who have a maximum six points from two games.

Sweden were one of the few countries not to play Friday and should have captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic and forward Johan Elmander available for the Amsterdam clash after the pair resumed training on Saturday after missing an earlier session.

However, defender Olof Mellberg is suspended after picking up a red card in Sweden's 6-0 win against San Marino.

England will be without defender Phil Jagielka and winger Aaron Lennon for their meeting with the surprise Group G leaders Montenegro. Jagielka has damaged a hamstring, while Lennon has a back problem.

Ferdinand will now return alongside John Terry in the centre of a defence that will have to be beware of an in-form Mirko Vucinic, who capped a magnificent individual display with the only goal in Montenegro's win over Switzerland last Friday.

"When the draw came out," manager Zlatko Kranjcar said, "I thought it was a tough group but that we could compete with Bulgaria, Wales and Switzerland, and with some luck maybe finish second. England are a different level, though."

Croatia top Group F on seven points after their victory over Israel but are not in action Tuesday and can be overhauled by Georgia and Greece if both sides win their respective matches against Latvia and Israel.

In Group H, Portugal can cut the gap to leaders Norway to two points with victory away to Iceland while Denmark entertain Cyprus.
