French tennis players will have to play at their best level to defeat their Serbian hosts in the Davis Cup final over the weekend, team captain Guy Forget said Tuesday.
"Everybody talks about Novak (Djokovic), but Janko (Tipsarevic)is also playing great and Viktor (Troicki) is also playing very well now," Forget told a press conference. "We'll have to play very well to win here."
Forget did not want to say whom of the players he brought to Belgrade - Michael Llodra, Gael Monfils, Arnaud Clement, Richard Gasquet and Gilles Simon - he planned to pit against the Serbs.
"None of the five should be surprised to be called to play. If they play, they will provide at a top level," he said at the pre-draw press conference.
Singles are played on Friday and Sunday, the doubles match on Saturday.
"For me it makes no difference who I play ... I know it will be hard," said Monfils.
Llodra recently defeated Djokovic in Paris, but, while saying it was "good," it did not mean much ahead of the weekend clashes.
"It was good to beat Djokovic at Bercy, but the Davis Cup is something totally different," Llodra said.
Llodra dismissed media reports of his quarrel with Gasquet - asked about it, he turned to his teammate and kissed him on the cheek. Gasket responded with a smooch on Llodra's cheek.
Forget played down reports about security concerns, saying he and his team were "feeling good."
